I am eventually gonnna have to put in a boat lift and was wondering if anyone priced them lately. On a shallow creek needs to lift probablly about 5000lbs.
Go with a 4 pile lift. Recently relaced my single pile lift and decided to invest in the four pile lift. Last year 6000lb Deco lift was $5000 with remote control and aluminum walkway. Installation was $4000. Permiting will cost $500-$1000 if do not already have one. Some companies will do the permiting for you but you will pay more than if you have the time to do it yourself.
if you paid that much you could have gotten a top quality 10 k lift installed.

If you are gonna put in a lift you should go for max capacity you can afford. It sucks if you get a bigger boat and the lift will not hold it. Do you have a permit from OCRM? Creeks gotta be over 20ā wide to permit lift and you are only allowed one quarter of the creek width for projection into the creek (60ā creek 15ā in).Permit drawings must be done by a surveyor or engineer. You can expect to spend a grand just getting permit and it will take 90-120 days.I am a surveyor and do a lot of permitting thru OCRM. Send me a pm if I can help you.

At that time I priced four diffeerent lifts (Hi Tide,Alumivator, Deco, Davit Master) and four different contractors and that was a great price for a top quality lift in Oct 2008 (Stainless steel/marine aluminium). Lift installed in Feb 2009. That was before unemployment reached 10%. Iām sure now the demand or lifts has decreased and so has the price (before we see massive inflation). I live on a shallow/narrow creek. I doubt I could get a boat > 6000lbs in this creek. SeaPro180 requested information and I provided information.
