boat question

I have a old fiberglass boat, and the transom needs to be replaced. I was just wondering what kind of supplies do you need to fiberglass the boat. the reason I ask is because, I have been to different stories and everyone has a different product to use. I know it is easier to get a new boat, but sometimes you have to do what got to do. I will appreciate any help on this topic, thank you.

The system at West Marine is excellent.

Most people wouldn’t be able to tell between the different epoxy resins. Any good epoxy resin will work for replacing your transom. Same goes with the plywwood in it, dosen’t have to be a “marine” ply, just a good piece of ext. plywood. Make sure to note any and all curves in the original transom and replicate them in the new one. Can save a lot of work if the exterior fiberglass surface of the original transom is in good enough condition to leave in place and remove from there forward then use the original skin to build up a new transom off of. Saves on having to re-gelcoat the ext. of new transom.
