I am in the same boat as you BSB, my wife and I are looking for a small lot down that way but seeing water is also not in my budget. If you don’t mind sharing, I’d love to see your final results.
Not being a smart-aleck, as I really don’t know…but is anywhere in Charleston County more than 10 miles from a boat ramp? Down around Beaufort and HHI, I would imagine that it would be difficult to find a spot that’s more than 10 miles from a public boat ramp.
As an aside, SC has the nicest ramps and boat landings of any state I’ve been to (at least since I started paying attention to it).
Small Lot? Cheap? Within 2 miles of 2 ramps and 6 miles of 2 more? Check out my neighborhood. Ranges from trailers to modulars to homes. Literally across the street is Piggly Wiggly, ethanol-free gas, liquor store and chinese food- what more can you want? Walmart- 2 miles, fire station 1/2 mile, live bait < 1 mile, even Bonzo- 2 miles or less.

I hit your liquor cabinet the other week when you weren’t there…
You can get a list of SC boat ramps on the Internet. Unless you use a duckboat, I suggest that you go and actually look at the ramps yourself. Some are paved, with docks and paved parking, some are little more than a gravel road running into the water.
Stickman/Bonzo - Sounds like Folly. Where is ethanol-free gas, at the Pig? I live in Charlotte, have a place on Folly and will be down there this weekend to drop the boat in for season, need to fill her up with petro beforehand. Thanks!
