I have been getting prices to get my boat seats recovered and I just don’t know how it can cost so much. 800-1250 for a flip flop cooler and a small seat with back pad on my center console.
I am a diesel electronics tech so I can appreciate someone using their trade to make a living, but I just don’t know where the cost comes from. All the quotes I said just plain white vinyl, it is a work type boat.
If someone could help guide me, I think I can do it myself. I am concerned with the corners. The bottom is just stapled down. Trade…outboard work, car work, beer??
Those parts seem to be pretty universal. I wonder if you can find them used in good shape and just swap out the whole parts new. You can get the todd cooler and seat from west marine online for $475. I also see those console seats a lot… looks like the one from my 1720cc. I replaced it because the starboad broke. I think I paid like $100 for just the lid/seat with cover. I might just replace them if I were you.
I use a guy in Greenwood, his name is Randy Butler.
His business name is Technique Interiors.
I can tell you this…He will cover them both with good quality material and it won’t be anywhere near that price.
He did a motorcycle seat for me recently for $40 with me supplying the material.
I found out the cooler is a Moeller. I sent them an email to see if replacements are available. The console seat is different, I may need to pay to have that done but the back rest looks universal. I will check brendt on Monday and see what they say.
Pops in Summerville has a son that does very good upholstery work for boats. He made me a cushion for the front of a SeaPro center console. Great job!
Mr Hardware
I can’t remember the name now but there’s a guy on Folly Road in small business park immediately after Cosmic Dog. Myatt HVAC is in there and their sign is easier to see on the monument sign. He recovered 2 seat backs for me last winter and was only about $125. They were curved so a little more complicated and he did very nice work.
