I’m new to Charleston and looking for the best boat to fit my needs. I would primarily like to fish more inshore, but have the option to get offshore if the weather’s good. I grew up in Florida and have been away from the water for years and it’s great to be back near it. Redfishing, shrimping, crabbing, etc. with my family seems ideal for me now, as I have 2 small kids, but looking for any and all opinions from you all who have much more experience and knowledge in this area than I do. Thanks for the help.

Anything that pulls drag, right?
20-22ft CC or Bayboat.
Keywest are pretty popular around here.
Anything bigger and the inshore fishing struggles, anything smaller and offshore is limited.
Leave a healthy budget for Good electronics, Bow trolling motor, and powerpoles. These 3 will make a big impact on how/where you fish.
Boats in this range are also easier to sell. Buying one with max HP or near max HP also helps resale.
