was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a used foot for a 130 johnson? I bought one last year from al’s marine but got shafted. He put a 150 on it but told me it was a 130, didnt find out until now due to having someone else getting the motor going after he couldnt. must be hard to figure out that the fuel pump is bad. Please if any of you have boat trouble dont go there
Easy on bashing businesses…read Pickett’s Sticky. I always find stuff like that on Craigslist. First, look online at what serial #'s correlate with a 130 as opposed to a 150 or maybe one of the experts on this site can help you out with that. That way, when you do find one in the classifieds or wherever, you will be able to look at the SN on the foot and KNOW

I think the 130 and 150 are interchangable.
Excuses? I’ve heard them all!
the v6 lower unit was available on the v4 engines, usually in a commercial application or a few 25" shaft applications, if it is a 150 lower unit, you should have had to change props as the 130 lower unit has a smaller hub diameter than the v6, if the v6 unit is good, you may have to reprop because of the differnt gear ratio, for what its worth, the v6 gear case is a stronger lower unit.
you can interchange the 130 with the 150
like spareparts said, it just means changing the prop
if you dont like the 150 gearcase (its a bigger case) I have a v-4 gear case
I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com
guys sorry for bashing but i was mad as hell I finally got ahold of the guy and he assures me that if its his fault he will fix it he said the same thing about interchanging them but its not the same lets see what happens
