Boat Show Feedback

Attendance seemed to be up and pretty much everyone I talked with was upbeat and positive.

Things I found interesting:

  1. Maverick Mirage
  2. 3 girls in black miniskirts

Thing I was hoping to see but did not:

  1. 6 girls in black miniskirts
  2. More technical skiffs

All in all I thought it was a pretty good show.

I enjoyed it too. I do wish more fishing tackle venders could show up. I’m sure the spots are expensive though.

I was hoping to get a good cash deal on a Minn kota but there was hardly any vendors selling. I also noticed a lot of underpowered boats there. I know they are trying to keep the price down but 24’ boats rated for 300 with a F115 is disappointment in the making.

Cheapest spot was $850 for one 8’ table and two chairs no power.

Kind of pricey for your local tackle shops. I’m sure they would have had more retailer participation if the price was a little lower. I would have liked to see more retailers and new cutting edge products. There really wasn’t much of anything and the few who were there, didn’t have much to show.

Wow. 8$ to get in and that kind of price for a small table? Someone made some big money.

The lack of vendors is why I didn’t venture to the show this year. You think they could open up the outside for local vendors with their own tables and cover for a lower price. Goes to show you it’s people with money trying to keep the small guy down. I would rather spend $8.00 in gas to visit our small local shops and not give it to the establishment.

What did you think of the new "SPORTSMAN "? I liked the looks of it but don’t know anything about them. Does anyone have any information on these guys?

08 210 sea hunt 150 yamaha ‘86 14’ super scout too much yamaha

I was looking for a boat show deal on a new boat cover. Was sad to not find the T-Top guys.

ZX

The good: Girls in black mini-skirts.
The bad: $6.75 beer.

fgl123 - i spent alot of time talking to the people from Hanckel about the Sportsman. That is their prototype from what i heard and story was that Milo and another boater designed it. super layout with very little wasted space. great boat and set up for the money. i will keep on dreaming about that one til my lottery numbers come in.

reelescape - that is ridiculous $ 6.75 for a beverage!!

I couldn’t make it for the show this year. Anyone snap any pics of the Sportsman boats? Any price info?

WJF

wjf - LOL the only pics we took were of the rogue motion girls. been checking Hanckel’s web site but no pics there yet of the Sportsman. don’t remember the boat show prices, but they had it priced with 2 different engines. give Hanckel a call. after i close the sale on my house i may be looking at a trade in.

The Sportsman was far and above the most boat for the money.
The boat appeared to be built really well with a lot of nice features and some innovative designs.
My wife was ready to hook one to the Expedition and take it home.
I believe they are being built in Summerville.

Sportsman Boats’ website is www.SportsmanBoatsMFG.com

That’s the boat.
Now if someone would buy my boat I could order one.
