Just got back this evening. Lots of neat boats at the show. Really was impressed with the Tidewater line. They really are building a nice boat. Much like a Sea Pro, but seems to be a little more dressed up.
The new Scout is pretty sporty. Lots of bells and whistles, but not sure if someone is going to pay $325k for that boat. I would like to have the fish box with the coil chillers in it. Very handy for keeping the fish cold and the beer colder.
we went Friday afternoon.
not…enough boats. It seems that there are a lot fewer models than previous years. They didn’t have any in the coliseum.
hot…the 325k scout as mentioned with the ice maker and below deck lounge
Hot - The Edgewater 335. Looks like an excellent party boat with the hidden grill and drink fridge. I’d rather have the
Not - $18k jon boats
Hot - Attractive booth babes.
Not - ■■■■ kids running all over the boats.
Hot - That Sundance flats boat. Looked like a nice little boat for the money.
Not - Being offered an H1N1 flu shot and a spinal exam. At a boat show.

HOT - Spot messenger 49.99 at the West Marine booth
Wow, that’s a pretty good deal. Paid more for mine last year, but it was definitely worth it. I wish I could find somewhere that has the SPOT2 in stock. Looks like it’s a lot smaller, and I like the flip-up cover on the 911 button. I’m a little paranoid about having the SPOT in my bag and having a bunch of rescue choppers converge on my tree stand or something after an accidental button press.
Hot: Bulls Bay skiff
Hot: 2400ltz Shearwater (path where)
Hot: Hells bay Skate (but price outrageous)
Cold: The kids with beach ball giveaways.
Where the heck were the tackle guys saw haddrells but not a lot more. seems the prices have gone up considerable. Guess my flats boat will continue to be an 18 year old 48wide jon boat but i do have new 2009 25hp two stroke yammie (last of its kind) and whats the deal with the new light weight 4-strokes if these are light then call me skinny all 275 lbs of me. Show was ok but a little cramped in the hallway, and i’m to light in the wallet to shop in the big room, maybe obama will stimulate me and i can move on up to the big stuff. nuff said
Hot: TowBoat US…
Thanks for comming by and saying hello. Great to see some old friends and meet some new ones. As always its nice to put a screen name with a face. Your support has been wonderful and very much appreciated. Thanks again.
I took my 5yr old & his buddy. The folks @ tailwalker wanted my kids to get on the boats & check them out. The stuff they got was great & the DNR people were super towards them. They didn’t run all over & act crazy as they had been warned before we stepped foot in the show.

There’s no problem with well behaved kids. It’s the ones that were given a beach ball and told to disappear that were the problem. I got beaned trying to take a look in the cabin on that Edgewater. Turns out a couple of kids had setup camp in there.

Not- the Blackwood. What was that about? A Lincoln Continental knock-off.
Hot- the Edgewater express. Although the Scout girls were cuter.

Don’t tell Ricky about the Blackwood. He seemed to like it.
And yes, Edgewater had nothing on Scout in the booth babe department. Wish I could have taken a look on that Scout. Stopped by on my way out and found a line of people waiting to get on the thing.
