boat size ?????s

Needing help from some of you expierience boaters that fish the inlets and the jetties. This might also be helpful for others that has wondered about the same thing.I am in process of trying to find me an inexpensive used boat that I can bring down to charleston and fish the inlets and maybe the jetties. So the first question is what size motor and boat would I need to fish the jetties?
The next question is about what size of boat would I need to shrimp inaround crab bank and in the harbor? The third question would be what size boat would i need to get up and down the harbor and fish? This info would be alot of help to me in trying to purchase my next boat.In the upstate alot of us use jonboats and little bit bigger boats to fish the surrounding lakes. I knowthe saltwater fishing is different so I wanted to have the right size boat and motor to handle the saltwater conditions. Thanks for your help in advance.

You live inland and will also be using the boat on the lakes ? For inshore a 17 to 19 foot is good to cover all your needs. It is also a pleasure to trailer and handle at the ramps. If you are pulling a distance a good trailer is a factor. No painted trailers. A boat that is Self bailing, a sea worthy design to handle waves. A motor that runs well and you can trust will fit the bill, I vote 4 stroke, a name brand so you can resell later on. The center console design is hard to beat for what you asked above. A vee hull handles the chop better than flat bottoms. You can run this boat out to the Jetties. If the waves are blowing it’s not fun out there even if you had a bigger boat. Your boat and you have to be ready for the wake of larger craft if you enter the Charleston Harbor, even in the ICW.It is a buyers market for all boats, always have a boat mechanic check out what you buy.

Yeah, what he said!! Now call me and let’s go fishing gonefishing!!!
