boat traffic for this holiday weekend

Not sure how this was turned into bicycles being on public roads… But as far as the boat traffic goes, it’s not nearly as bad as regatta weekend or fourth of July, but there will be lots of people out. Go early, find a creek to hide in to fish, come back to the ramp at lunch time and it won’t be so bad. Just don’t plan on showing up to the ramp at ten and putting in quickly… It won’t happen and you’ll have to contend with the local yahoos.

Oh and I can’t stand bicycles being on busy public roads…I see them on highway 17 frequently. But I just throw them dirty looks, never water balloons. Peapod is a menace I tell you!

Go out early and be back at the ramp either before 11 AM or around 2-3 PM when there is a lull in ramp traffic.

I will be out there. After a month full of termite damage, painting, water pump in my wife’s car, and then rebuilding the trans in my truck keeping me off the water I will brave just about anything.

We have not been out down there in a while and my wife is driving me nuts to come down Sunday. I want to but really don’t want to…know what I mean. Tried to tell her about all the yahoos. Then again, she just rides and relaxes. Hoping I can talk her out of it.

Yessir…it definitely pays to know how to get through “hairy” places on these weekends if you want to fish.

It will be high traffic for sure and the holiday boaters are the worst! I went out two years ago at solegre boat landing and the boat broke down near the big sand bar close to the boat landing, and like 99 boats went buy screaming laughing and intentionally waking the blank out of us. Some took multiple passes trying to put a 14 ft Malibu on the sand and fill it up like a bath tub. I had to stand in waist deep water and hold the boat till finally some guy got to show his wife what a good nice guy he is and tow us in on his holiday time, a real thanks to him.
