Where are you? In the Columbia area, Wesco Trailer would be a choice but maybe not the least expensive…
If you can’t find one locally, I ordered a galvanized Dexter from sturdy Built. You might also try Champion Trailer Parts. Wesco is good if you are in/near Columbia.
DOWN ; WHAT LENGTH YOU LOOKING FOR AND WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED??? I’VE GOT A COUPLE SPARE BUT USED I MIGHT BE WILLING TO PART WITH … THEY ARE 72 INCH TORSIONS ( 3200 LBs I THINK ) IF INTERESTED I GARANTEE THE PRICE WILL BE RIGHT IF YOU PICK UP HERE…

Thanks for all the responses. I’m in Charleston -
The boat is 18’ Tidewater Baymax.
The trailer is galvanized. The axle has a “saddle” for the keel of the boat…just replaced the springs and I noticed that where the hubs are welded onto the axle is severely corroded as well…trailer is still solid so it’s worth repairing.
Don’t have dimensions yet but I’m pretty sure the tag on the trailer axle said it was rated for 4500lbs likely 2’ square tube… Boat weighs 1900lbs dry I believe.

Give Charleston Trailer a call. They are off Dorchester Rd by Bosch. Best prices I could find about year ago and good guys to work with. I bought the parts and did work myself, too.
Good luck,
Victor
SAKATUMI TRAE
19’ SEA PRO CC // 150 HP YAMAHA
DOWN ; I BELIEVE THESE WILL CARRY THE LOAD BUT THEY ARE STRAIGHT AXLES AND DO NOT HAVE THE SADDLE …

Thanks for the offer - need the v-bend in the axle. Found a few shops here in Charleston that either stocks or can build. Waiting on 1 more price before I buy.
check out the Ace hardware store on college park round down from ATP gun shop. They used to have a pretty good selection at reasonable prices. Been a bit since I’ve been there. Good luck!
After talking to a few friends and calling around I went with Iron Knight trailer off of Remount Rd. Sonny was very helpful and we talked on the phone to try to determine the the axle size, but decided it was best if I bring the trailer over for measurements, which was easy for me to do. Got the new axle the same day and installed it myself the following day. Great people over there at Iron Knight. Local owned small business. Sonny also pointed out a mistake I made when I swapped out my springs, sold me the correct hardware and then told me how to properly bolt up the springs. I know there are other great trailer shops in the lowcountry, so no slight to them, just wanted to share my first experience with this shop.
