Boat US VS Seatow

Getting ready to put my boat in drystack for 2016 season…I want to renew a membership with 1 of these 2 services, SO, the question: Which 1 will go out farther from Charleston Harbor god forbid I need services offshore? I know basically, they both cover a lot inshore…any ideas?
Thanks, Jim.

wish the SEARCH function still worked on here…this topic gets discussed at least once a year, at length…

Due to my recent experiences I would strongly suggest sea tow in Charleston. I sent you a PM.

I tried the search 2 times with no luck…SO, if anyone can still offer a suggestion from experience, I would appreciate your help.

The search feature at the very top of the page works well. It is right between the recipes icon and the charters icon. you are correct the search feature on the right that is part of the forums does not work well if at all most of the times.

Apickett…yes, I used that one up top? 2 times…thanks for ■■■■■■■■.

That is odd I will check with our webmaster. I just punched in your topic and got several threads from the site. Sorry not meaning to sidetrack your topic just wanted to make sure that feature is working for everyone.

no sir, no sarcasm at all…I was using the one on the right, which as you can see, does not work…

Yea…it’s no big deal anyway, the search is good for stuff that doesn’t change…but services do change. I wouldn’t want to look up a service from a post 2 years ago? So, I guess the search is good on somethings…but in my case…I think I want some current input…lol. Thanks for the help though…

I’m an inshore guy and have always had Sea Tow. I used their service several times and can say without reservation or hesitation - They have always been top shelf. Phone always answered within the first couple of rings, very accurate on how long it would take them to get to me, and uber professional Captains, who took great care towing my boat. Even helped me walk my boat onto the trailer. I know this, I’ll never use anyone but Sea Tow

Sea Tow has been good for me. Only had to use them once, but overall a hassle free operation.

I need to sign up again after being out of the loop since '05 - will watch this thread carefully.

Thanks for asking the question and for the current and future replies.

Keeping my eyes and ears open…and trying to learn.

Can’t say anything bad about Seatow as I have never used them. Have had a Towboat membership for several years and unfortunately have had to call them. Ran low on 2-stroke oil one night shrimping…they were out in about 30 minutes with a gallon of oil. Ran aground one night at Bulls Bay coming in from shrimping (yes there is a pattern here) and a boat came all the way from behind SI to get me ungrounded. Made it in around 45 minutes and it was a black, moonless night. AND, the Capt didn’t even laugh at me, at least not to my face. I have been very pleased with Towboat but, I do fish offshore so not sure how or if that would alter who I would use.

Try using Google to search CF topics-works pretty well.

The search works okay as long as a topic is selected. “All Topics”, will usually return an error no matter how exclusive the words entered in “Search For” are. It looks like a possible “Big O” problem to me.
