Boat Wax

Who can help out with some good recommendations on boat wax that will last a long time. I am only concerned about the hull for discoloration and have an orbital waxer to apply/remove if that is necessary.

I use Trewax. Put it on in the spring and fall. easy on/off.

I like collinites insulator wax. But the 3 m restore and wax works good to clean and protect. I recomend using the 3m then a paste wax afterwords.

Big fan of the 3M for the outside. Woody Wax is just for the non-skid. Personally, I think Woody Wax is a bit over-rated, but just my opinion. I use it because it is easy to put on and off, but I don’t think it lasts that long and it is very very slippery after application. Very fine line between putting too much and too little on. I don’t really know of any other non-skid products and I think that is why people use it.

Was just looking at the Woody non skid wax and wondering about how good it works and if it left deck/cocpit floor slick at all. Be nice to be able to wax those areas without it getting too slick.

It’s certainly slick when you apply it - but after you rinse/dry per the instructions it’s fine. I’ve found that it really doesn’t last all that long - but it’s really easy to apply (just couple of sprays, spread with a wet deck brush, dry, and then rinse the excess with a hose) so no big deal to do a light application every couple of outings. Haven’t found anything better for non-skid

I second this but it does not last very long. Surely there is something out there that lasts longer. I don’t even mind if it takes longer to apply. I doubt it lasts longer than a month. Almost makes you wonder if it is really worth the trouble. During the summer, it probably is b/c it makes clean up a lot easier.

I was looking at the 3M the other day. That’s some expensive stuff. Which should be used? The restorer or the super restorer. One is a green bottle and one blue if I remember. I guess the question is how bad is bad to jump to the green bottle super restorer? I still have a sheen on my hull, so I assume the lesser of the two?

if you can find it use perfect polish. you will want to apply it by hand but it is fantastic.
