reflectors are on and the roof is under construction.
I would enjoy the heck out of a dock if I had one. THAT is my wife’s dream retirement, a small dock on a small creek just so she can crab and sit and watch the world go by.

I wonder what the percentage is of docks in the Lowcountry that get less than 10 days of usage per year by their owners is? Think about all the docks you see and then think about how many times you see people on those docks enjoying them.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Well that goes without saying.

It is obtrusive to say the least…
If you don’t think this dock is a problem, consider yourself part of the problem.
Look at where Jesus went to pick people. He didn’t go to the colleges; he got guys off the fishing docks.
We do a good job. The ruination of every creek starts with the first dock.
Once upon a time(true story though) I lived on the backside of Folly at the washout, we had a creek that went dry at low tide 15’ from my back door and a beautiful unobstructed view across the marsh of the lighthouse.
And the first dock permit was granted to extend the docks to almost 1000’ to deep water, with a roof and a boatlift and handrails, and we built it, then we built the neighbors,
and their neighbors, and theirs, and theirs, and finally my neighbors, and I could no longer see the lighthouse.
Absolutely nothing stops the development, the expanding tax base and the onslaught of humanity- just look at the pic of the dock and look at the bridge that brought it there.
All of us fish docks and the fish attracting structure they provide, just like we fish the jettys and the reefs
Dockman, just to be clear about my comment incase thats what you are addressing -
My comment has nothing to do with your crew building it, hell, i would rather you guys build it (local, economy stimulating company) than them bringing in some guys from out of town that dont care about our area.
I was just addressing the people who throw these permits out there like its nothing, allowing such intrusion of a highly trafficked creek.

I was out 2 weeks ago and this dock was lite up like Vegas on the end. However, it is still quite dangerous having to swing wide around this bad boy. $1 there is an incident by the summertime.
