Bog issues

here is the cliff notes version - 98 merc 75 2 stroke

about mid throttle, motor would bog, i could push the choke in and the motor would get through the bog

after rebuilding the fuel pump(needed to anyway) - same problem
after rebuilding the carb(didn’t need to) - same problem
after taking the fuel delivery system out of the equation - same problem
after replacing the stator - problem fixed

not sure if there was a better process to diagnose, but thats what i did

i did miss 6 weeks of fishin, but the winter weather was not that great anyway, glad to have my boat back

any comments would be appreciated

first thing we do is a compresswion tests, then a spark test. always, everytime.
