Thanks for the report. Most have know idea how difficult it is to get this information from way off shore
yes, thank you for the information. i disagree with the previous post about such info being difficult to disseminate. even small, local tournaments have vhf radio feeds, running scrolls on websites and hell, just a website. i am disappointed that the bohicket invitational, which is part of the largest fishing series in the state of sc does not even have a website where 2012 info can be found, i.e. participants, daily catch updates and tournament schedule. what gives?
I understand, and that is why I have offered this service to the SC Gov Cup Tournaments free of charge to get the word out. I started this little venture last year that uses text messaging and email (primarily) to update those of us that are not fishing. I can also send voice messages as well as video. We tested it at the CBC last year and it went very well. Had we known that Bohicket did not have the proper equipment to reach out to the fleet, we would have rented a sat phone. Sea Tow was great in getting in touch with the boats. Tolers, Megadock and Georgetown are all very well equipped and we will be able to provide updates every 3 hours during fish days. We are also looking into the live feeds to augment the tourney sites. Please sign up for Reel Time Updates at http://bizconext.com/main/reel-time-updates/ . While not as exciting as live audio/video feeds at least you know what is going on during fish days.
This same service would work well for any business. Take a look at www.bizconext.com.

Thanks, lifesgood. Nice to see that two Ripley Light boats have won the first two tourneys.
Sadie Beth the first one, and now Summer Girl…awesome. Good job for some wonderful people.
Irish wake crank up your vhf and let us know if you can contact anyone during the next tournament. you have 10 days to show us how easy this is.
It’s not for me to figure out. Other tournaments up and down the eastern seaboard have already implemented this technology. SC’s premier sportfishing series should be no different. Thanks to the original poster for offering what he can to keep us up to date. good luck to those fishing in 10 days.
