Bomb Island Boatworks review

I am a true believer in supporting South Carolina businesses and have owned Scout, Sea Hunt and Sea Pro. I picked-up my Bomb Island 16 last week. If you look at the video on the Charleston Marine site that is my boat. Power pole and trolling motor were added. I regret not putting fish finder/GPS on initially but will soon. I will use it around Edisto. The boat handles extremely well and comes on plane quickly with my twins and myself on board (all around 150 lbs) with the 60 hp Yamaha. She is a stable fishing platform with good fit and finish. I feel that it is an excellent value. My only complaint is that the newer EPA mandated fuel fill system is terrible in that the vent on the tank barely works. The fastest that I can pump without overflow is about a gallon a minute and I have tried several different pumps/nozzles. I give 5 stars to both Bomb Island Boats and Charleston Marine.

I use a wooden dowel to relieve pressure on the spring loaded ball before pumping gas. It works for me.

I just checked them out online. That is a slick looking rig.

I’d find the canister, and bypass it if it were mine. Those things are a problem.
