Anyone done much bonefishing or other inshore down there? Heading next week and thinking of doing a guide one day and potentially some wading on the south side some others.
Any tips/guide recommendations or other info?
TIA.

Had a great bone fishing trip on the fly at the flats in north Caicos. Got a guide recommended by beaches resort . About a 25 minutes ride to north Caicos and the bone fishing was out of this world. I stopped counting after 20. No monsters mostly 3-5 lbs but steady action for about 4 hours on the rising tide.

My stay was in Providenciales. House was located on Taylor Bay so it was the only place I fished. I did the DIY bonefishing and saw large schools 4 out of 6 days. I hooked up with fish 3 out of the 4 days, but due to rookie mistakes only landed two fish. All schools located on the Eastern third of the bay. In the afternoons, too many swimmers to find the schools.
Recommend any fly imitating a small crab. My research said leave all the shrimp patterns at home. As b00mstk said, North Caicos is the place to be if paying for a guide.
My wife and I were in Grace Bay the 2nd week of December and used Darin Bain, http://turksandcaicosbonefishing.com/ (bainboy26@hotmail.com). He was extremely nice and put us on the fish within 5 minutes, they were schooling up all around us. Getting guides down there is not cheap but we had fun, $550 for half day and another $20 for licenses. He was cheaper than other guides I checked with.
My wife and I have been to Provo twice. We stayed at Harbour Club & Marina and really enjoyed it. I couldn’t afford the guide prices, the were around $800, so I did the DIY walk and wade. I found some nice fish in the Turtle Tail beaches, easy wading on hard sand/marl. If you are adventurous, you might drive down to Bonefish Point. You will find complete solitude there. Walk north on the beach and you will find a HUGE flat with lots of fish. It is a bit of a hike, but worth it. Check it out here https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bonefish+Point/@21.7601574,-72.3455429,6160m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x3dc3eeb785d948d9 . Be sure to go to Da Conch Shack if you stay on Provo.
The Tiki Hut is another good eatery, located in the Turtle Cove Marina. Fresh seafood at reasonable prices.
