Went out of sunset cay on Folly today and caught 6 sharks, 4-5 ft. All in about a foot and a half of water. Caught 3 big reds as well.
It’s fun to see the sharks tailing towards the bait. Caught them all on live shrimp. The wind was blowing though and kept things interesting on my buddies 17 ft war eagle.
Man, 4 - 5’ bonnetheads are big bonnetheads. Between this post and a couple others, sounds like the sharks are back.
Wire leaders or heavy mono? I havent intentially caught them but it sounds like a lot of fun!

Ben - I’m not trying to hi-jack tf’s thread but either will work. Personally, if I’m targeting larger sharks I’ll go with wire leader and a circle hook. Bonnet Heads and Atlantic sharpnose I’ll go with 50lb mono and a circle hook.

oh…squid, fresh cut bait and blue crab are all top choices for bonnet heads and Atlantic sharpnose.
