Book recommendations?

Anyone read any good books lately? I’m looking for suggestions for books on fishing, adventures, outdoorsy stuff, travel, etc and I’m not really into romance, spy/war, political genres.

I need a good book myself. One of my favorites was Joshua Slocum’s book about sailing around the world.
Maybe we should have a book swap at the Charlestonfishing oyster roast?

Any of the Randy Wayne White books. He has a Doc Ford series that is set in the keys. Right up your alley.

It is a very good read, and it is well researched, compelling and true.

Ben Moise’s book describing his work as a DNR agent in the Charleston area was very good.

Second on the Randy Wayne White novels. They are pretty good, especially the earlier ones. Shadow Divers and Hell Divers Rodeo are also good.

Clive Cussler’s got some newer ones out. Hunter, Flynn, Jeffery Archer, Ben Coes, Hagberg etc.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

“Life’s tough…It’s even tougher if you’re stupid” John Wayne

Currently reading “The Adventures of Shadrek”. About an infamous elephant poacher during the Rhodesian bush wars in the 60’s-70’s. Written by the game ranger that chased him for years,Ron Thompson.Very interesting read, it gives a good account of elephant hunting and the political climate there during that time.

Great topic

I recently finished the “Enemies Trilogy” by Mathew Bracken “Enemies Foreign and Domestic” is the first book. I don’t think I’ve read anything that has screwed with me as bad as these. Has made me distrustful of government and paranoid. It reads almost like a right wing manifesto but there are enough similarities to our gov’t after recent events to make the scenario seem almost plausible. Really hard to put down once you pick them up

The Bible has all of that stuff in there. It's a good read regardless of your beliefs.

Pat convoy has just released a new book named the death of santini. One of his better works IMHO. I was a huge fan of his until I read My Losing Season and realized all the controversy he had created but a great writer none the less.

I’m 11 pages in now. Might as well read a book that I already have before I order more.
