Heading to Bora Bora/Moorea at the end of September for my honeymoon. The websites say they have “offshore” charters but wanted to check to see if anyone here has been on a charter in the area of French Polynesia islands?
Also what are some must do activities?

We went for our honey moon last December. What an awesome place. We stayed in an overwater bungalo at the St Regis. You are in for the time of your life.
The wind blew when we where there so did not make it offshore. To tell you the truth on the island of Bora Bora I did not see any offshore fishing boats. I highly recomend the shark and ray tours they offer. Its worth it to go on a small boat vs a party barge. They have both and you have to ask for the small boat. We also did the around the island jet ski tour. Thats was tons of fun.
All you need to bring is your snorkle stuff and a bathing suit and most of the time you did not need a bathing suit
Its your honeymoon afterall…
The airport at Bora Bora is basically a dock and all the hotel boats come pick you up. Where you staying?
Half at Hilton Moorea Lagoon & Spa and Bora Bora Four Seasons both over the water bungalos. We will be there 10 days. Can you rent a boat? Also we are doing the shark/ray tour, heard it was awsome.

The Four Seasons is right next door to the St Regis. Its an awesome location and you can’t go wrong with either. The Hilton is on the other side of the island. Its closer to town and many of tours, where they leave from. I know for a fact the little 6 person boat we did the shark and ray tour with picks guest up from the Hilton hotel dock (because we picked up some people). The Hilton is also on a little island at the entrance to Bora Bora lagoon. So I would arrange all your tours at the Hilton. We found the St Regis and the 4 Seasons are out on the far side of the reef. So any tour you do requires a ride to the hotel dock, then transportation from the dock into town. Its an extra hour, easy. But on the other hand it was cool to drive around the island. The towns on the island are not much; basically pearl shops and they are the same shops at the hotel. We did venture out one night to Bloody Marries for dinner and its worth the trip. Otherwise we stayed and enjoyed the resorts. The food is okay but the worst part is the bill, OUCH! Saying that I would go back in a heartbeat.
PM me if you have any other questions.
I spent 10 days on Moorea and it was awesome. You have to do Dr. Pooles whale watching. I was able to jump in the water and swim with one it was awesome. We went fishing a couple of times. There is one guy on Moorea that does sport fishing. Youll never get above troll speed. There are lots of fish out there. Went on a catamaran cruise that was fun. Also did a bunch of other stuff. Shoot me a PM with you number and Ill tell you about everything we did there.
Not trying to change the subject but could some of you who have been there suggest travel agents or how you made your arrangements for this trip. The place looks amazing and I am thinking of going. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
I will PM my number to you guys and we used a family friend who has been to the area and owns the travel agency. Currie & Company Travels Unlimited (404)355-0286.
