wanted to dive and catch some bsb’s before they go back to a 5 fish limit. rolled out at 6 with realfish01, upsman, jordan and greg on a pretty sloppy ocean, weather was rough but fishable! stopped in 100’ and hit our spot with the frist anchor drop due to erics great seamanship. seas were 3/4’@4sec wind blowing a steady 15 all day.had to take up and let line out several times to get away from the ars which were comming over the side two at a time all around 10/12 lbs, which were vented and returned to the sea. the beeliners were thick also and very nice size, had to move several times to locate big bsb’s which were comming over the rail in the 20/23" range. some of the largest we have seen, some were 4lbs! also got a nice mess of large grey triggers on a great meat haul day. dropped a cam down and decided the vis was around 5’ and the seas were building so we skipped our dive and decided to head in with more fish then we really wanted to clean! had a great crew as always and the tuna shasmi with glazed mahi wraps for lunch made the ride in worthwhile! stopped at the mouth of the jettys to take care of bus and watched the freeman fly by like it was riding on air, doudt she could out run the trip 300s on the back of the Vector but a little carbon buildup and 65 gals/hr @65mph will keep you from showing off. she looks like a sweet boat just way out of my range.
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
no pics? 20-23" bsb are monsters! Good job!

Nice catch Bug Catcher! We caught a bunch of those big red snapper too. Funny thing, they were extinct last year and weight 15 pounds this year. How do they grow from an egg to 15 pounds so fast?
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
red snapper, go figure. I must be #6 or below of the best bottom fisherman in chas not to get a call? We had a great meat haul, never rigged for grouper, thats all thats left now that triggers, bsb’s, pinks will be by-catch when we drop for grouper! glad yall had a good day.

What you talking about? I held out till the very last second on Bully before I told him I was in. I just knew you were going to take me diving. The phone never rang…

20 to 23 is a darn nice BSB.
My advice is my opinion only. I may have gotten that opinion from something I read while sitting on the toilet. Please keep that in mind when reading my posts, the information may not be correct.
s4gs, we will be glad to haul you around anytime, we always are in need of divers! you know how the weather deal is riding out of the upstate! we should have stayed home this weekend with the weather forcast, but we had the fever and knew we could at least fish even though the dive didn’t work out. tqusmc22, you know what 20+’ seabass look like, remember the fish slaughter in Feb 2 yrs ago at Katies Hole with Auggie Dog along with the ars and scamps! Are you going to change your username and avitar now that you are going back to the sands of the far east? looking forward to diving in Jax the July 4 weekend! got a call from Ron on fathers day from Afganistan, he sounds jacked!
