Went out with Ltid on his Grady 300 Marlin today. Ocean was wind blown in morning but laid out with long swells until 5pm or so where swells tightened up. Grady ate everything the seas gave it. Started catching bait on the cans with little luck. Caught a dozen or so and rolled on. We went to Commanche, couldn’t get a bite, went to Y-73, not a bite. Had some #s from an old Foe on here not far from Y-73 and stayed there the rest of the day. Ended up with an overall decent day. Caught a mess of B-liners and sea bass. Lucked up on 1 Trigger and 1 ARS. Sharks were a plenty and the biggest knot head we had on was Cuda lunch. We ended up having to land the cuda. He left no remnants of the sea bass. It was a fantastic day on the Blue, and we made it back safely without issue. Sure as heck beat going to work!
we were out in 100-110 ft. of h2o lots of action but all small fish. did manage one seabass, one trigger, two white grunts, and one vermillion, and some red porgies. not sure where all the fish are? very weird day! still good to get out though
No doubt Aquasport. Nice to see you still on here. It’s been years since my last report when we broke down. All of our fish were small. No b-liners over 15" and most 13", only 1 BSB 13"+. The trigger was only 12-13". Cuda was 30+. Snapper was probably right close to 20".
is this the real, original floridaboy? if you’re back, this is big

1 hand wish it was mine, but better yet, have a friend who enjoys taking you fishing on their big, nice, beautiful boat.
Wow have you lost weight?

Pflueger reelman AKA Florida Boy AKA Florida Boy2 welcome back. We need some entertainment here again!
If I lost weight I sure found it and doubled down on it. Married life with kids is tough.
We had a great trip both in and back, we were able to run around 28 to 30 both ways, as for Florida Boy a long time lake acquaintance has now turned in to a fishing partner, always looking to take someone fishing a learn something new.
A very beautiful day on the water, the current was strong and it was breezy so when we tried our first few sets of numbers we should have dropped anchor, it was definitely to fast for a drift off anchor, but once we got our drift line right we pulled past dropped anchor and let out plenty of line. When you dropped to the bottom and pulled up you better have been ready, you either had something or you were bait-less, the bite was on and we had out plenty of line across the live bottom so we would just pull in on the anchor every now and then and get on something fresh and the bite would keep up.
The black sea bass were so thick and all probably 12 inches but still anything you catch when you get the opportunity to get out of work and fish is a blast. We caught our share of throwbacks that is for sure. The sharks were there and we caught our fair share and luckily no AJ’s to have to deal with. The B-liners were definitely the game changer and gave everyone some meat.
Anytime you can leave from Columbia, pull the rig there fish all day and make it home without incident is a great day. Usually I will have at least one flat tire, but this trip I had 6 new ones, had the flat on Saturday going to the lake.
Beats a day at work and the fish we catch is a bonus. Ready to load up and do it again, ready for another break in the weather!
Oh and on a side note, Florida Boy may talk some SMACK (like we all do now and again) but he definitely put the fish on the deck and is a great guy to fish with, we will be doing it again, hopefully soon.

Nice report, brother. I guess you’re right about having fun, being safe, and the fish as a bonus. As you can see below, I had my fair share of problems, but I’m totally new to all this and I’m trying to learn.

USMCsilver, semper fi brother, and we are all always learning when we hit the great vast ocean, because anyone who goes out fishing and claims to know it all needs to quit fishing because the fun is gone. Maybe we can get together some time and go fishing, always looking to meet up with new fishing partners
