Bottom Bumping 9-30

Left Remley’s at 5:00 AM with NOAA forcasting 2’ seas out 20nm. NOT!!! Outside the jetties, we were met with solid 4’er’s and stacked. Decided to continue @ idle until daylight. Then, limped out to 100’ at 15 knots. Current + waves + wind made drift fishing impossible so we anchored up over structure and had a decent day for just 2 guys. Ride back in saw the wind die and the wave height diminish to 2’. Came in at 25 knots.

Limit Triggger/Blackfish
2 limits B’liiners
ARS (undersized and returned ALIVE to catch another day)
1+ limit Red Porgy
White Grunts

The 2 of us cleaned fish for 2 solid hours and freezer is full again!
Fun day on the water even though is was snotty out. Definitely miss 41004 (although, if it had been working and I saw how bad it was out there, I’d have probably called it off and missed an excellent day!)

Paul, funny you should say that. It was supposed to be a nice day so neither of us took precautions for a day like yesterday. However, I had a bottle of dramamine on the boat and when we reached our destination, both of us took one. Never got sick, even anchoring in the stuff! When anchored, the waves were almost even with the bow of the boat.

When do you return from your trip? Call me and let’s fish!

So many different weather/wave reports it’s hard for me to figure out how it’s really gonna be out there. I’ve had good luck with sc-offshore though. ??? I don’t know. My Dad always told me to hope for the best and expect the worst and you’ll never be disappointed.
Good report, thanks.
