Bottom Bumping Saturday 8/18

I had a few friends from the upstate who wanted to come down and catch some grouper and whatnot this weekend. Well, they chartered a Captain out of Little River that we’ve fished with before. First issue was he tore us a new one for being there at 6:45. He said we were supposed to be there to leave at 6, but his website clearly said 7. Next, we got out there, and caught just a handful of black bass to start with. Most weren’t keepers. We kept moving and moving, with little luck. Then, the capt says oh, there’s the problem, I’ve been going off of the inshore lowrance numbers. Not sure what that meant, but it didn’t sound too good. Anyways, we ended up with a limit of bsb, a few silver snapper, a few grunts and 1 gag. Nothing to write home about, but some good eating fish, right? Well, when we get to the dock, the capt says it’s gonna have to be $200 more than what I originally told you because we burnt more fuel than I thought. WTF?!?! So, we paid, gave the mate a tip, and came on home. But, this guy screwed himself because those guys had a 12 hour trip lined up with the capt in September, and the cancelled it as they were leaving the boat. So, the $200 cost this dude $1500. I’m not not sure what his deal is, but he kinda messed up with these guys who had fished with him about a dozen times.

Unbelievable! You need to let us know the captain’s name so we will not refer anyone to him!

growndawg, I am sure he will get his. He has been fishing out of LR for a long time, and we were shocked that he did us like he did. I’ve never been one to smear anyone, so I won’t start now. If he starts running his business like that with return clientel, he won’t be in the business much longer. I’ll leave it at that.

bentstik??? hell he canceled on me three years in a row. so i caught my own fish this year inshore! thanks for those tips again goozeman

No, it’s not him. Like I said I don’t smear people. Their actions will catch up with them soon enough.
