Went with a friend yesterday and caught a mixture of the usual bottom dwellers. Wound up with around 10 triggers, about the same on snapper, and BSB, also had a few grunts, jacks and about 300 sharks. As soon as the bait would hit the bottom sharks were on it no matter where we went. They were so bad we caught one on the wire line trolling for groper. All in all it was nothing to write home about. We could have done a little better if we could have gotten away from the sharks or remembered the bait. We had to catch our first fish on a piece of ham then cut him up. We fished around 90 ft and the ocean was great there was just a big ground swell separated by 15 or 20 seconds.
Those sharks are almost extinct you know[:0]…
Did you happen to drop down any bigger live bait or were they chewing up that too?

I tried several diferent sizes and species of live bait and that did slow them down but they were still on it pretty quickly. I Also cought them while jigging.

Hypotheticaly,One could disembowel one of the afforementioned sharks and let it drift away with the tide to draw his bretheren to him like Eyeball to a button buck…Hypotheticaly,of course…I’m just saying:wink:
