Arrived at the reef bouy about 7:00am and we were all alone. Started looking for structure based on GPS numbers but I will admit we couldnt get locked in to any. We tried a few different spots and picked up some nice Blk Sea Bass (big fatties all over 13"). I hooked in to something on the bottom and ended up working it for two hours. Finally it popped my 80lbs powerpro and I was actually relieved. I wonder what it was? Fought straight down the entire time… Anyway it was a beautiful day on the ocean and a great run for the Seacat. I guess I will get better at finding and anchoring reefs as I do it more I am still very novice.

You’ll never know but Cane is likely correct. Had what I thought was a good sized grouper on the line yesterday. After about 15 minute and a broken rod that was rated for 200 pound we finally got it close enough to id it as a seven foot shark

Fact is I am such a novice catching 3 black sea bass is a big deal to me!

Funny thing is Carla Dee I saw a really really HUGE one where we were and was wondering if that is what it was. Whatever it was it was more than I cared to manage that day…
