Bottom fishing on Sat w Comanche and C60 pics

We had a great day on the ocean. The ocean was like a lake. We dove the Comanche and C60 barge. The vis was only about 20 to 30ft. Water temp around 58 degrees. The Comanche had tons of baitfish but only a few game fish grouper and snapper. There were tons of AJs and spades. Jordan shot a 35lb plus AJ. The C60 barge was barren. There were a few small grouper and 8 to 10 very large sheaphead. I attached a few photos. The wheel house of the Comanche was loaded with bait and I had one grouper that was starring me down. We came in to 60 feet and got our limits on BSB 13 to 15 inches

Appreciate the info and pictures. Glad to know Jordan has been avoiding those vehicles and back in the water.

Wish we had this scouting report before anchoring up there Saturday!

those pictures are really cool…
stickman, I hear ya, that info would have saved us some frustration and possibly helped you land your first targeted convict!!! let’s try it again sometime soon…

The spadefish were delicious but I haven’t tried the amberjack yet. There wasn’t too much good meat on it so I have alot of dog food now however I did get some great looking steaks off of the front back. With so little of the fish being edible I doubt I would keep another amberjack but I guess I had to learn for myself.

Water temp was ~54F at the Charleston 60 and ~57F at Comanche in 120’.

Here are my pictures and video:

Great pictures guys. Had a blast!! Thanks. Jordan, how was that other fish you got? the funny looking one…

What did you catch the jack with and the other fish other than BSB. Every time we go out there we catch BSB and thats it. We must of caught over 200 BSB.

No problem. We will keep them coming. Taking great pictures and sharing them is part of the fun. When we dove the same place on the charleston 60 in december, it was absolutely covered with large grouper and snapper. This time I only saw a few shorts. Comanche was loaded with Amberjack, bait, and a handful of spadefish. I would have stayed longer on the Comanche and got a few more spades but my computer gave me a funny reading on tank pressure so I didn’t push my luck.

Jordan,
Was it only you and Greg diving that day? I wanted to go but the wife and I had something planned for that day. Next time I’m gonna take my camera and try to get some good pics of our sites.I know some of the people here like to see what the areas that they fish on look like down below. Where were the fish, I watched your video and I’ve never seen the 60 where there wasn’t loads of fish on it. I knew it was going to be a super calm day out there too, ■■■■!
