Bourbon Snobs

Any other bourbon snobs out there? Have you found any good deals and or what have you tried lately.

My local guy talked me into a bottle of Really Old Barton and i was impressed. $30 for half gallon and tastes almost identical to Weller.

Some other good ones lately:

Wathens
Weller Reserve
Elijah Barrel Proof
Stagg Barrel proof
Michters (the charcoal colored label)

i cant get away from the Devil’s Cut

Proline 201WA
Aloha 24ft pontoon (LooneyToon)
Old Town stern with 7.5 johnson

Have you watched Bourbontucky? Very interesting documentary for those of us that don’t know much about the industry…

It would be fun to take a week in the summer and do this…http://kybourbontrail.com/

Here are a few other good ones you might try.

Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bulleit 10 yr.
Amador Double Barrel
Eagle Rare
Chattanooga 1816 Cask

Touring the distilleries is a lot of fun and very educational.

More than you probably care to read about, but…

Been drinking Jim Beam White Label for over 50 years. 2 fingers in glass with a couple ice cubes.

Jim Beam actually makes about half the bourbon listed above.

I did the trail about 5 years ago with some buddies and really learned how to drink bourbon. I didn’t know I was doing it all wrong in the first place. For the price, weller is the best bang for your buck and I love Col. EH Taylor but $50 is hard to stomach if you drink a lot. My go to bourbon lately for just sipping one at night has been Four Roses small batch. I like it better than the single barrel and it might be the only bourbon I’ve ever said that about.

East Cape EVOx

Blade and Bow is not too shabby. Angel’s Envy is solid too. And yes, I like Blanton’s too.

"Been drinking Jim Beam White Label for over 50 years. 2 fingers in glass with a couple ice cubes".

Nope, that’s the way you drink Beam White. Been around long before they came up with all the marketing to get millenials to drink bourborn.

Buffalo Trace is pretty popular for the price.

Evan Williams single barrel is the best bang for the buck for a daily.

Outside of bourbon, the best thing on any shelf (if i get to pick) is high west double rye.

How many people on this thread have full beards with high dollar product in them? I need to know.

If you don’t mind saying, where did you get the Very Old Barton?

I used to drink it a few years ago, but my liquor store couldn’t get any more from the distributor. Haven’t found it anywhere since.
