I see on Google Earth, a landing at the the end of Bowen’s Island Road. Is that a public or a private landing? Just looking at yak landing sites that I have not used before.
It is private, but you can pay to launch there either at the restaurant or at that kayak rental place next door. I think it was $3, but it has been a long time.

Thanks LGB. I thought so but my mind isn’t what it used to be.

Pretty sure you can either drop payment, or just pay when you get back to the landing. If no one is there, I believe it is free!

Don’t be picking on all the Folly fish, I hear they have feelings …
You can just launch and pay when you get done if they aren’t open when you arrive.
Cool, thanks. May check it out sometime. Never fished that area.

Let me know when you go, I live right up the road and go there pretty often.

Sounds good, will do. I hope I can get back down there soon.

I never catch anything brag-worthy there. Small shark, blues and a few small trout. Lots of dolphins down there. Scaring all the good stuff away. Good oyster beds though.
Hmmm, I may kayak to some oyster beds this winter.

I’ve launched from there before. The launch is $5.00. If they’re not in the booth, they say to just leave it in an envelope under the window/door with the description of your car. You can also pay when you return. Either way they’re pretty cool about it. It’s just if you end up screwing them over they’ll probably remember your vehicle next time you’re there and you’ll probably screw it up for everyone else… Really good fishing area, only a short paddle to Kings Flats
