Bowen's Restaraunt

The wife and I are planning a long weekend without our daughter this summer in Charleston with the boat. I plan on buying some chart’s before hand but I was wondering if anyone has made the trip from the harbor to Bowen’s,and what is the easiest route to get there? Any other reccomended day trips on the water would be greatly appreciated.

That’s a tricky run if you don’t know the water back there behind Morris Island. You can run through the cut and down the Stono into the Folly river, longer run, but much easier to navigate!

I thought the Stono would be the safest bet. Being that it is just me and the wife,we will be in NO hurry.

That’s a LONG run via Wappoo-Stono-Folly River-Folly Creek- I’ve done it many a time ( we live just upstream from Bowens).
If it’s a summer weekend , there’s usually plenty of boat traffic behind Ft.Sumter/Morris Island to follow through Governor’s Cut and Lighthouse Creek to Folly Creek.
Just avoid dead low ( the cut can hold < 2 ft at dead low) or high tide when creek edges are less well defined. Ft. Sumter to the Bowens dock is about 9 miles
as the creek winds.
