Bowfin

Anywhere to catch bowfin from shore? I’m about to go crazy if I don’t catch one

Slands bridge

Any bridge that has a freshwater creek that holds water is likely to have mudfish. Your best bait would be a live crawdad or shiner 18" under a cork, but they will bite almost anything. Personally, on artificials, I’ve caught more on a white crank bait. They often bite off the tails on a rubber worm rather than getting the hook.

Dawhoo Lake has Lots of banks fishing access. We caught several mudfish in there last week while fishing for bream with beatle spins. This lake has so many mudfish that they will have several mudfish tournaments during the summer to help control the population. It’s located in Lambertown SC.
