I’ve been off work for the last week and a half so i figured i’d try to get that big buck at my property that ive been waiting for all season. I stayed at the property for 3 days, say in the stand every morning and every evening. I didnt see anything except for 2 small doe. I havent hunted there in almost a month, at that time, i was getting surrounded by 8-12 doe every single time i went, not sure what changed. anyways, after all that i decided that i needed a granteed kill, since i havent gotten to shoot anything all season and my freezer is empty. so i grabbed the kid, layered him in some warm clothes, grabbed the heater out of the boat, and sat in my shed at the bottom of the yard at the house. 30 minutes later the deer show up. my kid has been sick, so he had a cough. he scared the deer 4 different times before i could get a shot on the big girl. each time, they came back out within 5 minutes. it’s not exactly “real” hunting, more like shooting fish in a barrel, but it gets him used to being quite and waiting for deer.
