Took my 2 youngens and their 2 fishing friends out on the water since my oldest and her friend both got metal militia in da mouth 3 days ago and needed to see if it affected their fishing ability…Nope they still got it!!! Headed offshore this morning and found a large barracuda, even bigger cobia, and several spades at our spot but no takers so with the patience that all of us fisherfolks have we left after 45 minutes of frustration not being able to get these fish to hit back to the ICW. Dropped anchor at their hot spot and the excitement began. Blacktips, Whiting, rays, and bonnet heads all were hungry and eager to see what that odd shimmer in the sky was - Braces on dem Faces!!! The biggest bonnet head got to the boat and all the kids were screaming get the net…then the over 5’ bonnet head came to the surface and the net was not gonna work. Popped at the boat since I had re-tied all lines without leaders and after losing 3 more big boys all lines had appropriate leaders attached. Best week ever to play with these kids on the water and watch the chaos take place when the drag is screaming just as loud as dem youngens!
