Braid to braid

Can anyone suggest a knot to tie braid to braid? Lost about 80 yards off a reel when the ray took the line under the boat and probably hit the prop. I have 80 lb on the reel and have about 100 yards of 80 lb on a spool I would like to add on. Thanks

Try one of these two knots I’d probably use the blood knot

blood knot with a drop of superglue on knot. use a lighter to burn the tags down to the knot. this will keep it from hanging in the guides

I do one of two things in this situation.

  1. A braid to braid splice using white jerry brown hollow spectra.

or

  1. I will put the remaining line onto a smaller reel for a refill. This takes a while, but you are getting fresh line on top. So if I have 40 that is getting light, I will spool it onto a 30T. Sometimes if I have a 30T thats getting light, I will put it onto the bottom of a 40 and do a splice to finish filling it. Also a bimini to bimini is a very strong connection, but bulkier.

Are you using braid on trolling gear without a mono top shot…or is this a bottom fishing tip?

Why not just use a simple uni to uni or nail to nail? Are these not both easy and common 100% knots?

uni to uni would be my 1st choice- easy, fast, and strong

I wrote to power-pro to ask what knot they reccomend when tying braid to braid. they responded with a uni to uni with a lock knot
