Caught 3 big trout this am on spook jrs.&rapala in North Edisto,bass came in and broke off 2 spook jrs.&1 rapala on shell beds. How does braid do on shell beds,I know nothing can stand too much pressure on the blades but if it would save a lure or 2 it would be worth the exra money. I’ve never used it but the fish are there but you can’t get em out on mono. Do you use the same knots as mono? Fish were biting good up to 8am then nothing.
I prefer braid but not all knots will hold. Tie a polamar or a uni-knot.

Personally I think that 20-30 lb mono holds up better to oyster blades than similar size braid. I try to get the best of both worlds by using braid with a 6 foot section of mono leader. When a bass hits, do everything you can to horse it in and keep it coming towards you. When you let them run side to side that’s when they run the line over the oysters.
