Im new to saltwater fishing, so I have no clue, but does anyone use braided line to troll close to shore for fish like spanish? I have a couple rods spooled with 40 lb. braid, but dont know if its a bad idea to troll with it.
Yes, try around 13ft of water parallel to the beach. this is where the end of the slope and wash of most of our beaches switches to better water. Some beaches its 200yds off others a 1000yds, birds or bait will usually be close to this line. Try a mix of live and artificial 3 to 9 inches trolled at 1 mph and you will catch a whole mix of species.
