Made a quick trip out this morning with SD, Mark, the famous PQ, and the Turks. First stop they weren’t chewing too well, so we hopped to the second spot and it was on… after wrassling a few jaws, we started crushing the charleston snappers. then little scotty broke the ice with the first keeper genuine. added two more keeper genuines and then the gags piled on. put 6 in the boat. a couple of good ones for nearshore action. SD smashed her first one as well. weather layed down a bit for the way home and we were back at the dock at 1pm. Glad that we will be able to catch a few more in 09.
Apparently word was out that PQ was onboard and the camera crews were swarming when we returned. Look for his stellar good looks on the 6pm and 7pm ABC News4 broadcasts on Monday.
Nice work D. Can’t beat that for a half day of fishing!
i would have loved to stay out while they were hungry, but little evan (not in the pics) is only 4, and he was having a rough time of it… but about an hour after we were back, he was running all over the docks, good as new. and, for you parents out there, shield your children from all JAWS exposure. scotty (6) went on the jaws ride at universal studios. after the first sharpnose, he asked, in all seriousness, “will any of those sharks eat our boat? do those sharks eat people?”… i wish I had never seen JAWS myself, otherwise i might jump in the water with you!
glassy - bet you figured it out. see if you can get hollywood and ritter together for a trip. we might have to bring the cameras out for that one too…
gas man - you still going to mississippi after xmas? i’m heading to AR, not exactly sure where yet. if we’re close maybe we can get up.
The DNR boys were stopping boats on the way back in through the jetties today around 3pm. IF you had rods and reels on board they flipped on the blue lights to see what you had on board.
