BRAINSTORM 12.26.08

This morning started off great with Tukie and I stepping on the boat to Gas Money’s best gal finishing up her breakfast banana. She assured us that it was from a lucky banana tree… After clearing that up, we pushed out to the Grunt Hole. Unfortunately the Charleston Snapper were on vacation. The sharks were not. Tukie managed to pile on a grown gag on the spinning rod. It was accompanied by some good audio. Just as we were discussing our next move, Thizzle locked down and I just about put him out of the boat getting to the gaff on a big redfish. It was a shape-shifting spot-tail, not a genuine. Oh well. Then the banana tree paid off… Gas’s gal proclaimed that the last bait couldn’t go to waste. She tossed it out and said WATCHOUT, then slapped the biggest gag of the day in the boat.

Nice day, bad weather.
4 gags, all grown
3 Genuines
several triggers, charleston snapper, etc… (1 charleston snapper had an old tag in it)

That one gag is a stud. Nice work.

Hey CD. Make sure you turn that tag in you’ll get a free t-shirt. Sells and I tagged a !#$load of fish 2-3 years ago. It may be one of ours. North or south? Nice day on the gags, good work.

glad to see you got out there, OTM. it will be interesting to see if that charleston snapper was one of the lucky ones to escape the boat with you and paul. we caught the fish to the south and also pretty much straight out.

Nice catch

I must say that I’m glad there were no transom releases this time, but hey there’s always next time! Afterall, we are conservationalistas’… Too bad the old lady will be out of her element after tomorrow, maybe she can get some new fish-laden underwear to protect from the fine marinas goo and attract a sailing fish or two. Another good Trip D! Where’s ole’ Greg A. these days? Or has he fled to the Gulf to fish the erector sets?

That is correct, however the wind gods did not cooperate.

I’m back this weekend.

Great job on the fish. I’m gonna have to learn to bottom fish one day from you and the famed snapper keeper. Have a good new years, see ya next year.

The snapper keeper fled with Gregg and Jason, but we did get a good look at all the scribbles… Seems like D has a little keeper of his own too!
