BRAINSTORM 5.15.09 and 5.16.09

Took a look up to the North yesterday hoping that the blue water had pushed in. The water at the hole was cobalt blue but there wasn’t too much life. Caught 1 blackfin and right around 30 dolphin. Ran to the south to see if we could find some life. Lots of bait just offshore of the ledge on the 200 line. Also captured about 8 AJs.

Fished the SCSSA tournament today. Wanted to head back to the 200 line but thought we would be one of the few to tuna fish so we headed back to the north. Caught 2 blackfins. Both were nice fish, bigger one was 30.8lbs, caught by our lady angler. She also caught out largest maui of the day. Sam our 5 yo junior angler caught the second largest maui. Also captured a bunch of AJs, a bonita, and a cuda. We almost had a trash can and a meat fish slam. Oh well. Couldn’t buy a wahoo. Caught about 20 mauis. Highlight of the day was Sam (the 5yo) asking me if his dad was going to be okay. Luke let the monkey go early and he was on the loose most of the day. Had 2 lines get run over by yachts today. Guess that’s fishing at the parking lot. Lots of blue marlins captured in the Edisto tournament. Looks like it might be a good year for the billfish. Let’s hope so. Congrats to Billfishin. They can even catch them w/o hooks.

those back to backs are rough… good job on the fish

NMFS = No More Fishing Season

“Back home we got a taxidermy man. He gonna have a heart attack when he see what I brung him”

Parking lots right… 50w on a contenders prop makes me a little sad. Back to Haddrels on Monday.

Nice captures CD.

Those tunas going to do anything for you guys in the tournament?

Good job on the fishes! Any idea how many boats fished the SCSSA?

Freshwater is for drinking.

not sure how many boats fished in the scssa, and not sure if we were lucky enough with the tunas, mauis, or the aggregate. guess we will have to wait a couple weeks until the banquet to find out. Our juniour angler is pretty certain we won and says he is planning on stuffing his piggy bank. i’m not one to tell a 5yo he’s wrong…

C’mon now, let’s not get into the hair products. Nice work out there.
