Weatherman missed the forecast yesterday early morning, and looks like he may have gone back to back as it was blowing out on the beach early this morning. Ran to the north to go with the chop and tried some new tactics to get ready for our first Gov Cup tournament on the boat. Pulled mostly plactics all day, and also tried a new technique that we dreamed up on one of the slow days a couple of weeks ago. No bites on the secret wonder, but wow it looks good. If I was a blue marlin I would be all over it. We will see. Ripped off 2 big wahoos behind the boat early. Not much doing to the North. There were some mauis on the ledge, but not much size to them. Fished out in the deep for the rest of the day. Caught a daymaker wahoo on the 100 fathom curve that Mike Collins of Lowcountry Diesel wooped… It was an up and down battle, and she almost got the best of it. Striker Tips first gaff shot had just about ripped off from her thrashing, and the hook came free as Thizzle came over the top with the second gaff. He scored a highlight reel assist and Mike skipped across the cockpit to avoid her chops. 75lbs on the nose. Not much more action out in the deep. Caught a dolphin and spent most of the morning just waiting for a bluefish to enhale the leprechaun off the rainbow. Didn’t happen, but it should.
I have been fishing my whole life, and I am twice your age…Daniel, I don’t have a F’ in clue what you are talking about; “leprechaun off the rainbow”. I guess I have to take a day off from work and go with you, just so I know what the hell you are talking about!
Good job on the “Hoodaddy” !
NMFS = No More Fishing Season
“Back home we got a taxidermy man. He gonna have a heart attack when he see what I brung him”
I’ve been to the land down under twice and this is one of the finest lures I’ve ever seen. Guaranteed to work some magic. Zach has it now and he’s preping it using all the tips and techniques he’s learned over the years.
The 80’s are good to go. Thizzle, you found the stand up sticks yet?
i’ll bring the big sticks, but i’m thinking we might need to test that whole two story slip n’ slide tube thingamabobber though… just to make sure it goes down well
CD, sounds like you’re getting some great use out of the new boat. Congrats. The Bandarstick went out last weekend and got a 30# mahi, biggest one so far this season. Hoping to get another shot w/e after the 4th. All this new fishin jargon isn’t a result of the penumbra, maybe I’m lacking some blood flow to the fishin centers of my brain.

As long as that blood flow is going where it’s needed, I wouldn’t worry.
