Fished the 50/50. Fished the 350-380 line 200’ - 350’ all day. Caught 15 maui wowies. Had two nice ones get away. Oh well. The daymaker appeared while striker tips was angling a maui. I saw the flip flop flip up in the air. Looked like a seal that a white shark had tossed. He went from where the left long would be to the right short. As I was shouting something is after the maui, a huge hole appeared where the maui re-entered the water. We slung the pitch bait out and the attacker came right back. Tried to eat the maui 3 or 4 times with the pitch bait right next to it. Maui would jump out and the blue would follow, head out of the water each time. The last time he grabbed it and Tips fed him the maui on the TLD 20. In the next 30 seconds as we cleared lines he dumped about half the spool. Chased him down and got to about 100yards and he came back up and jumped. Started thrashing on the surface and threw up the maui. Tips did a great job feeding him. Oh well. He looked to be about 200lbs or just over.
Yesterday I fished on the Teaser2 with midgiemullet and few other charachters to celebrate midgie’s upcoming event. A big time was had by all. We captured 16 keeper scamps and SJ got a nice gag. Team Portside was on fire. Quill fished the Brainstorm without me and said that fishing was slow. They fished the 400s just offshore of the ledge and ended up with just one maui.
