BRAINSTORM 8.8.09

I think we got lost out there and ended up in early May. The mauis were thick like seachaser sailfish. Caught 25 trying while trying to avoid them. Had one sail bite and one teaser bite that we couldn’t switch to a hook. 7yo Hailey caught her first billfish. It was a grown one that could have swallowed her if it was hungry. Saw 3 free floppers but we couldn’t entice them to nibble. electric bill and syked out were on fire out there.

if anyone wants some mauis go find the edge. there are several grass lines and the big mats are loaded with maui wowie. most were 6-9lbs but there were several around 20lbs. i saw one school of about 30 gaffers and another school of about 150 peanuts. we were on the 470 line around 300’.

That is pretty interesting, what was the temp @
the mauis’?

Congrats on the table fare. We couldnt find much of that up north.

With the forecast this weekend I am a little suprised you are not overnighting for swords.

We had same problem went sail fishing and dolphin where every where neat suprise for this time of the year.

the mauis were in 80-81 degree water. wish i was swordfishing. some other boats went last night. hopefully they got on them.

Good report, will be out Monday looking for some sails in the same area and will put some of those bonus dolphins in the box if we get a chance. Good Job.

Daniel, check your mail.

We were on a school of dolphin that was acres… biggest I have ever seen… nice work on the sails…
