…ok…i know this has no seafood in it…but cooked it yesterday and it was really quick and easy.
Heres what you will need…
2-3 (regular or turkey) italian sausage links( remove casing)
1 tsp veggie oil
1 cup thinly sliced red onion
6 cups thinly sliced red cabbage( about 1 1/2 lbs)
1 1/2 cups peeled and chopped granny smith apples
2/3 cups apple juice
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp dried thyme
1/8 tsp black pepper
1 bay leaf
heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over med-high heat. add sausage and onion to pan. cook until sausage is browned…aprox 4-5 minutes stirring to crumble. add cabbage and remaining ingred. bring to boil. Reduce to simmer, cover and cook 15-20 minutes stirring occasionally until cabbage is tender. Discard bay leaf.
Has a really great flavor!
Donnie had a very “doubtful” look on his face…but ate a 2nd helping and said he was really surprised at the taste.
