Thanks for the info, Rick. I drew up for a second when I read “Hwy 378”! I just knew it was going to be near my place and cancel swimming for the Summer.
unfortunately I drove through it on the way to sons house. thought that it was just water on the road and bridge until the odor came through the air vents. makes the drive so much more pleasant. notttttt!

I remember a few years ago I was getting some debris on my downlines. I started to notice the sewage smell and left. Found out later there was a sewage leak and I had been pulling toilet paper off of my lines. glad I didn’t jig up a tampon

This is why I don’t eat fish out of the lake. Aside from being too lazy to clean fish, I wonder how many times this happens and we never hear about it. Nasty!!

it would take a hell of a lot more than that little spill to keep me from eating fish from a 500mile shoreline lake. i actually was there when they were cleaning up. i drove through the water thinking that it was just water until about 1/2 mile late i could smell the stench. it was just a small spill contained in a very small area. no big deal. whatever fish you catch and do not want just call me and i will clean and feed the multitudes.thanks
Lake Murray Association monitors LM for chemicals and contaminants including fecal matter.according to all I’ve heard and read we are Lucky to have a very clean and healthy lake .Lightin up people and enjoy our beautiful lake…LMA member.

Fish have been pooping in the lakes forever. Sewage is not a heavy metal that will stay around forever. Algae, plankton and other bacteria break it down in no time. If you think a fish caught out of the ocean is cleaner than lake Murray you are sadly mistaken. The ocean has become the worlds toxic dump.
