Bright Yellow Gas

What causes it? Gas in tank is about 4 mos old, but put up with stabilt and a little sea-foam in it. Dumping it and getting a new in line filter. Cleaned out the cup on the motor and the gas looks more like antifreeze. Needless to say, motor wouldn’t start. In hindsight, I should have looked at the gas before giving it a rip.

Also, gas is non-ethenal.

I always unhook the gas line from the motor and pump out about a quart of gas and re attach before trying to start a motor that has been siting for a long time! I think the hose leaches out bad stuff over time. It has allwase worked for me

I am pretty sure the stabil will turn the gas the bright yellow color… I could be wrong tho.

Mine has sta-bil in it and is bright yellow as well, but my motor is running fine. What make, hp do you have and is it carbed or efi? My guess from reading your initial post is carb problem from old gas sitting in the bowls and the floats are now stuck.

BTW my gas is older than 4 months and is burning fine.

It has a carb. Cleaned carb and running like a top (may have just jinxed myself!). Talked to a mechanic who told me ethenol free doesn’t have the chemicals in it and can seperate. From now on, if gas doesn’t look normal, getting rid of it!
