Anyone ever launch at Brittlebank Park or Sol Legare Island on Stono River
Capt Dave
I got yelled at by Chucktown Police @ Brittlebank for dragging my yak thru the weeds. Haven’t been back there since

I have at SSol Legare. I think that it is a great launch as I have not had any issues leaving my truck there while fishing.
Might be a good trip to gpo out + explore Sol Legare Island on Stono River
Not sure if it is closer to the Stono inlet than the Folly beach Launch or not?
Capt Dave
Same distance to the inlet between folly and sol legare. Some good fishing in the area. Watch the wind though!

That’s pretty retarded considering that IT’s A PARK! Gotta love CPD

I’ve launched my kayak twice from Brittlebank. One time I went up the river towards citadel…other time I went to the harbor. Not a bad place to launch if you are okay with carrying/dragging your yak a distance to get down to the dock.

I have put in a Sol Legare multiple times. Have never had an issue with my SUV, but i have not been parked there while it was dark for any length of time. I agree with yakman, watch the weather down that way. Lower Stono can get dangerous with wind, wave, etc. I have had a scary time there once this summer when a storm came in and caught me by surprise…water got really ruff.
