Fished the Broad last week - Wednesday through Saturday - on the high tide. Water slicked perfectly on Thursday and Saturday. Weather didn’t cooperate on Friday. Had good shots at several sighted cobia on both days but couldn’t get them to eat a fly. Several of the fish were very small - less than 18". None of the fish were particularly big. Toughest trip that I’ve had in a while but it beat the heck out of being at work. Very few boats on the water. One friend did fairly well on cobia during Thursday’s window but none on flies. The fish are still around if you have the time and the weather cooperates. I didn’t find any spanish in the rips. I did see a small school of micro jacks working some bait but they weren’t big enough to warrant abandoning the cobia hunt. Good luck.
