Jon boat trailer has been in rough shape. I recently replaced both leaf springs and hardware and the axle is fairly new. The outward support has finally failed due to rust. Boat is sitting very crooked, but the weight is still supported by springs and axle. Should I even waste my time trying to fix the trailer or look for a used one. Also, do you guys feel that it is safe to take home from Edisto Beach to Johns Island.
Thanks ahead of time for any input.
youre better off finding another trailer. you might get lucky and find one that has a good frame but bad springs and hardware and you can switch your new hardware off your old trailer.

You guys sure got your money’s worth out of that trailer. It doesn’t look like there is anything left to weld to.

Can’t believe you moved it, to get the boat off![:0]
Pictures are out of sequence. I realized how bad it was once I dropped the boat at Edisto Marina. I had no choice but to put her back on it after fishing all day. Now to get the rust rig home to Johns Island.
You might wind up with the boat in the middle of the road somewhere! Drive the boat back by water and leave the trailer! Get a new trailer!

Wish that would work, but it’s not that Easy. Chop has been rough and I couldn’t make that trip, I scoped it out yesterday. If I could, I have nowhere to leave it until I get another trailer. This storm is also causing a bit of a hindrance. I will look for a tow company with a sled bed and have them take it to my folks house in Ravenel to be safe.
Easy, thanks for pointing out the dangerous situation that I could cause. I was only thinking of getting it home. If anyone knows of a tow company out towards Edisto, please let me know.
Also a used trailer for a 14ft jon boat.
Thanks.
Thanks Mechanic. I will contact them and hopefully pick it up after the storm.
Thos community is great.
