Brookies all dressed out

Had monday off (thank you Mr Columbus)fished one of my home waters up here in WNC and absolutely hammered em. The fall colors in the trees are showing out but cannot hold a candle to the colors that were on the brookies i got, just amazing color. For any of you guys back home on the coast thinking of a trout trip now is a good time to hit it. And for stocked water we put a lot of 3 lbs brownies in the water!

What were they hitting? Thinking about heading upstate tomorrow

it was rainy and cold and i was fishing a double nymph rig (some hi-stickin and some indicator cheatin), top fly was a black zebra midge size 20, and I dropped a purple zebra style midge i tie with a tiny sprig of micro flash as a tail, they hammer that purple thing, i also fish a midge that is brutal looking (all dubbing pink, purple, & crystal) looks like somekinda rainbow bright thing they kill it. midges worked on rainbows then switched and swung big meaty streamers for browns and got a bunch of brooks now these guys were stocked but were gorgeous and big, jet black mouth’s and amazing colors, fall fishing is a color fest! I would recommend it!

If it swims throw a fly at it!

Going to Beech Mountain Sunday for a few days, may have to try it. I am NOT a fresh water angler, but I like fishin’

Several fly shops in that area, hit em up for some flies and where to go info and get you some, week days you should have water to yourself mostly

If it swims throw a fly at it!

Hit up the middle saluda today. I got 5 and my wife caught 4. All bows. Between 10 and 14 inches
